Room in Roof Insulation

How will room in roof insulation help me?

Using your roof space as a room can be very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer unless the ceilings and walls are insulated.

Room-in-roof insulation

•    Saves on your heating bills
•    Keeps your home cosier in the winter, cooler in the summer
•    Improves comfort for you and your family
•    Helps to reduce your carbon footprint

The Energy Savings Trust (EST) estimates that a detached gas-heated home could save £445 per year by insulating the loft (January 2024).

Installation

To install room-in-roof insulation we fit a thick (approx. 60mm) insulated plasterboard. The room is then plastered, ready to be decorated, after which any electrical sockets, radiators or similar features are repositioned to the new wall surface.  Any residual eave spaces are also insulated.

You may be able to access grant funding to support your room-in-roof/loft insulation. Not all grant funding is means tested, and our team will always check to see if you can access grant funding.
