Flat Roof Insulation

How will flat roof insulation help me?

Flat roof insulation helps to regulate the temperature in your home, keeping it warm in winter and cool in summer.

Flat roof insulation is an excellent cost-effective solution to significantly improve the thermal efficiency of your home, reduce energy bills and play a vital role in reducing carbon emissions.

Flat roof insulation

•    Saves on your heating bills
•    Keeps your home cosier in the winter, cooler in the summer
•    Improves comfort for you and your family
•    Helps to reduce your carbon footprint

Flat roof insulation can save around the same as loft insulation.  The Energy Savings Trust (EST) suggests this is around £230 in a gas-heated semi-detached home per year (January 2024), but the savings will vary depending on how much of the property has a flat roof.

Installation

Flat roof insulation can be quick and easy to install, taking around 1 to 2 days.  Works are completed externally, reducing any impact on your normal activities.

Before we complete any work, a technical survey is carried out by a Retrofit Assessor.

A layer of rigid insulation board is added to the roof, with a new weather-proof layer on top of the insulation.

Funding

Having flat roof insulation installed can increase the value of your home by improving the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating.

You may be able to access grant funding to support your flat roof insulation. Not all grant funding is means tested, and our team will always check to see if you can access grant funding.

You can also benefit from 0% VAT, which is available until 2027 on insulation installations and renewable energy upgrades.
