Aran have been awarded a further 60 homes in the final phase of Folkestone and Hythe’s ambitious SHDF project, allowing us to build on our current successful SHDF partnership.

This project has seen Aran complete SHDF funded upgrades in 142 homes to date, with another 36 homes programmed for completion in the coming weeks.

Improvements have been completed in primarily in street properties but also included insulation works at Folkestone and Hythe’s first Net Zero project, Ross House! Ross House was originally an office block but was repurposed into 16 flats and has now been fully refurbished works included External Wall Insulation, Under Floor Insulation, Loft Insulation, ASHP, Solar PV and new kitchens.

Aran have installed Air Source Heat Pumps, Cavity Wall Insulation, Electric High Heat Retention Storage Heaters, Loft Insulation, Party Wall Insulation, External Wall Insulation, Underfloor Insulation, Replacement Glazing and Solar PV using a combination of directly employed technicians and approved subcontractors. Our chosen delivery partners are based in the region reducing the environmental impact and increase the social value of the project.

Our dedicated SHDF delivery team have provided onsite Contracts Management and Resident Liaison, and our appointed Project Co-Ordinator has ensured that all paperwork meets SHDF and the Council’s requirements.

These final 60 homes will see Aran having installed SHDF upgrades, in nearly 250 homes which is a huge step to decarbonisation and improving the comfort of residents for Folkestone and Hythe District Council.

This is one of Many SHDF projects we are successfully delivering with numerous partners. We eagerly await SHDF Wave 3 and are looking to partner with Local Authorities and Housing Providers, across the East Midlands, East of England and South East, who are invested in achieving impactful outcomes for their residents.
