Fuel Poverty Awareness Day

Wednesday, November 27, 2024

#FuelPovertyAwarenessDay draws our attention to the fact that the National Energy Agency (NEA) has reported that by January 2025 there will be a massive 6.1 million homes nationwide that will be in fuel poverty and struggle to heat their homes adequately.

Not being able to heat your home and living in a cold damp home can impact your physical and mental health. Cold homes can affect a young person’s life chances. Everybody deserves to live in a warm, safe and healthy home.

Aran work with Local Authorities, Housing Providers and Utility Companies to help vulnerable residents improve their energy efficiency and keep their homes warmer by installing insulation and heating upgrades through many grant funding streams including the current phases of Home Upgrade Grant (HUG) and Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF). We look forward to helping many more vulnerable residents to improve their homes during 2025 and beyond through Warm Homes: Local Grants and Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund.
